張曉雄 ZHANG Xiao-Xiong

生於柬埔寨(1958年),畢業於廣州暨南大學歷史系(1982年),曾任職澳大利亞國家舞蹈劇場(ADT 1987-1992)主要舞者,並與南澳大利亞州戲劇院、昆士蘭皇家戲劇院、澳洲廣播電影學院合作。1990年獲選年度最佳男舞者。1996年獲選年度最佳編舞。

1993年開始以獨立編舞家身份往來於澳亞大陸,並以其融合東方傳統肢體律動與西方當代觀念的獨特身體美學與教學訓練系統,影響了澳洲及華文地區的現代舞。曾任教於澳大利亞當代舞蹈劇場、香港城市當代舞團、雲門舞集等舞團,北京舞蹈學院、上海戲劇學院、北京師範大學、阿德萊德大學、阿德萊得藝術學院、西澳大利亞表演藝術學院、香港演藝學院等,並擔任台北越界舞團、焦點舞團藝術總監。

1996年移居台北,任職國立台北藝術大學舞蹈學院(前身為國立藝術學院舞蹈系)副教授迄今。在台北20年間,作品甚豐,育人無數,並活躍於國際舞壇。受邀參加的國際藝術節有:阿德萊得藝術節、新加坡藝術節、雅各之枕藝術節、香港新視野藝術節、阿德萊得國際青少年藝術節、阿德萊得澳亞藝術節、阿德萊得荷夫曼藝術節、北京國際現代舞節、廣東現代舞節等。其文集《野熊荒地》2009年由爾雅出版社出版,彙集其少年至中年時代的文字與攝影作品。該書同年入選法蘭克福國際書展。

Born in Cambodia and moved to China in the early teens; Mr. Zhang earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from the History Department of Jinan University before emigrating to Australia in 1983; he studied modern dance at the Centre for Performing Arts (Adelaide) and started the carrier as a professional dancer. He danced with the One Extra Company (Sydney) from 1985–1987, the Australian Dance Theatre (Adelaide) from 1987–1992, and Vis-a-Vis 1994 1995. Performed in Jim Sharman's Shadow and Splendour (1992 – a joint production between the Royal Queensland Theatre Company and the State Theatre Company of South Australia). In 1996, he moved to Taipei and took up the position as the Associate Professor of the Dance College of the National Taipei University for the Arts (former NIA) and the teacher of modern dance for the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. He joined the Taipei Crossover Dance Company in the same year.

His works have been premiered by companies such as Cloud Gate Dance Theater, Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Company, Guangdong Modern Dance Company, Beijing Modern Dance Company and Taipei Crossover Dance Company, and have also featured in the Adelaide Festival, the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, and the Singapore Festival, Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival, OzAsia Festival. His other teaching experiences include The Australian Dance Theatre, the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, the Beijing Modern Dance Company, the Hong Kong City Contemporary Dance Company, the Hong Kong Dance Company, the Centre for Performing Arts in Adelaide, the Beijing Dance Academy, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and the Daqing Arts Academy.
